Language

The official working language of the Symposium is English. Simultaneous translation facilities will be provided only on June 29 (Opening Ceremony, Plenary Sessions)

Registration/Information Desk will be open before Symposium (June 27 and June 28, 2009, according to schedule of Flights arrival) at the Rossiya and Park INN Pulkovskaya Hotels lobbies, as well as during the Symposium:

Symposium Kit

Symposium Kit, which contains Final Program, Symposium Proceedings, badge, tickets for Social Program and lunches will be provided to participants during check in at the Registration/Information Desk.

Badges

The Symposium badge will be given during Registration procedure. Participants are requested to wear their badges during all Symposium events. Only registered persons are given access to the session rooms. We kindly ask the participants to send us the filled-in Registration Forms for speed the procedure of badges printing.

Proceedings

All accepted papers, whose authors have paid the registration fee and sent the Agreement for publication, are included in the Symposium proceedings (four printed volumes and a CD), that will be distributed among the participants during the event. Additional copies of the Proceedings can be purchased by request.

Credit Cards

Mayor credit cards like Master Card and Visa are normally accepted throughout Russia.

Currency and Exchange

The basic Russian currency unit is Ruble. Rate approx: 1 Euro = 44. 00 Rubles (RUR), 1Dollar = 33.0 0 Rubles (RUR). Dollar and Euro rate can be under the change. Ruble comprises of 100 Kopecks. Foreign currency can be exchanged for local money in banks and exchange offices, according to the valid rates of exchange.

Public Transport

The municipal bus fare is 15 rubles, microbus fare is 20 rubles. Subway fare is independent on the distance: 20 rubles. The taxi fare is about 300-500 rubles depending on the traveled distance.

Airport transfer

All participants will be met in the airport and railway station.
Transfer from Saint-Petersburg international airport (Pulkovo 2) and Domestic airport (Pulkovo 1) to Symposium venue hotels will be provided. There will be free shuttles from Pulkovo 2 and Pulkovo 1 to the Symposium venue on June 27, Saturday and June 28, Sunday. After buying your tickets, please inform the Symposium secretary by chugui@tdisie.nsc.ru your name, paper number (ismtii000), the date and time of your arrival, flight number, city of departure. Persons arriving other days should fill the Transfer booking forms, and order the transfer to FAVORIT DMC by E-mail: conference@favorit.spb.ru and chugui@tdisie.nsc.ru

For reference the information about ground transportation between airport and Symposium venue, Rossiya and Park INN Pulkovskaya Hotels is as follows:

The Symposium venue is about 20 km far from the airport Pulkovo 1 and Pulkovo 2. To reach your destination, you need take bus No. 39 or microbus No. 39. The bus stop for Park INN Pulkovskaya Hotel is Moskovskaya (end station). To reach the Rossiya Hotel from Moskovskaya station one should take the metro and follow to the metro station Park Pobedy (next from the Moskovskaya station).

Internet Room

A set of computers connected to the Internet will be available for the Symposium’s attendees in the Internet Room, as well as there is the WI-FI access in the Rossiya Hotel lobby.

Meeting room

A pleasant and convenient place for deep discussions.
Besides the Halls for lectures and posters there will a comfortable Meeting Room (Nikolay II) available for you to have deep discussions with partners, colleagues and experts from different companies.

Weather

The weather in Saint-Petersburg is rather favorable in June-July. The average air temperature is about 23°-27°C above zero. Sometimes it rains; don’t forget to take the umbrella. Also participants are recommended to bring some warm clothes like sweaters and jackets for some night excursions.

Shops

The shops are generally open from 9:00 to 22:00 for a whole week. There are some 24-hour food shops. Near the metro station Moskovskaya there is the big department store Moskovskiy.

Dear Authors and Participants of ISMTII 2009,

On behalf of the Symposium Committee, I am pleased to invite you to attend and, if you have paper being accepted, to present your papers in the 9th International Symposium on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments (ISMTII 2009) to be held in Saint-Petersburg, Russia from June 29 to July 2, 2009.

Many details of ISMTII 2009 are available on the website of ISMTII 2009 at www.tdisie.nsc.ru/ismtii2009

There were 407 abstracts submitted to the Symposium from 30 countries and regions around the world. The Publication Committee has accepted 292 papers from a total of 345 contributions after reviews which are based on quality of papers. The Symposium Committee would like to thank all authors for their contributions and support.

Registration

The Organizing Committee would like to inform you that all authors and participants should complete the Registration forms and send them to the Symposium secretary at chugui@tdisie.nsc.ru before May 16, 2009. Early Registration is already closed. Now higher registration rates should be paid as specified in the Registration form.

Proceedings

Papers will not be included in the simple and informal Proceedings if registration payment and publication agreement form are not received before May 16, 2009.

Final Program

Papers will not be included in the Final Program if hotel bookings for foreign participants are not confirmed by June 5, 2009.

We would like to emphasize that, like at any other Symposia, presentation, either oral or poster, is the most basic and important issue for ISMTII 2009. We would like to ask you to contact us promptly if for some reason it becomes impossible for you or any co-authors to attend the Symposium so that we can remove your report from the Final Program. Please don't ask any other non authors to present your report on your behalf. Please note, that we include the papers in the Proceedings and later recommend them to Journals only after registration fees are paid and presentations at the Symposium are made.

Publications

After the Symposium, a significant part of the presented papers after careful consideration by the Publication Committee will be recommended for publication in MST (20-30 papers), KEM (70 papers), and Measurement Science Review (10-15 papers). One more journal, namely, Advanced Materials Research indexed by EI, Elsevier, SCOPUS, and others (70-80 papers) is under discussion.

Hotel Reservation

Please also make Hotel reservation if you haven’t done it yet at your earliest convenience by completing the Hotel Reservation form and sending it by E-mail: conference@favorit.spb.ru to FAVORIT DMC. The number of hotel rooms at group discount rate is limited. Organizing committee strongly recommends the authors to make the hotel reservation as soon as possible.

Visa Support

Please note that foreign participants need to apply for entrance visas to Russia. Since it might be a time consuming process for visa application, we would like to suggest authors to start visa application as soon as possible. To receive the invitation for tourist visa you should complete the Visa Support Request form and send it to FAVORIT DMC by E-mail: conference@favorit.spb.ru To receive the invitation for business visa please, send by E-mail: chugui@tdisie.nsc.ru the request for such invitation. Please send the following data:
  1. Scanned copy of your passport
  2. Place of birth
  3. Address of work
  4. City for visa applying for
  5. Period of your stay in Russia
The procedure of such invitations issuing is rather long and takes about 1-1,5 months, so I kindly ask you to send me the information as soon as possible. After receiving the invitation you should apply for visa to the nearest Russian Consulate in your country.

Social Program

We would like to propose you a number of visits around Saint-Petersburg that are not included in the registration fee of the participants. Please fill the Optional Program form and send it to FAVORIT DMC by E-mail: conference@favorit.spb.ru.

Airport Transfer

Transfer from Saint-Petersburg international airport to Symposium venue hotels will be provided. The fee for transfer is under discussion. After buying your tickets, please inform the Symposium secretary by chugui@tdisie.nsc.ru your name, paper number (ismtii000), the date and time of your arrival, flight number, city of departure. We will acknowledge your transfer request by mail.
